He Must Increase

Swine Flu

I know it seems a strange topic on a worship forum but what strategies have are churches got to deal with an infectious epidemic.

Should we continue meeting in large numbers or perhaps only have house groups.

I don't have any answers, it has been mentioned at ABC but we don't have a policy in place does anybody else.

Yes, this started at our church last week. We were also 'encouraged' not to shake hands with people when making the sign of peace. I guess hugs are out, not that they have ever been in at our church :)

You could borrow a set of mini glasses from one of the free churches, they probably wouldn't meet the doctrinal requirements but I would have though it would be closer than nothing.

Actually David, that is an excellent idea. Thank you. Any ideas for the shaking of hands issue?

That's not so easy, being a member of a Baptist church we already use the mini glasses most of the time but for the shaking hands issue we are in the same boat as you.

We could have a big box of disposable rubber gloves at the door but that just doesn't seem right to me.

We could all keep our hands in our pockets and not shake hands but we won't.

If I think of anything else I'll post it.

Because that would be too near the truth.
