He Must Increase

UK Worship Leaders & Musicians' Network | UK Worship Forum | Worship Events List

What is happening? It seems like the discussion site is slowly dying, or at least, very little seems to be happening at the moment.

Where has everyone gone? or is it me you are trying to get away from....?

Come on guys and gals, where are you?

Probably mostly at work.

Discussion is often a patchy thing though, with times of high traffic and times of tumbleweed. I've not blogged since Monday week, and don't really feel like doing so even now.

Here's a little something impossible to brighten your afternoon.

Hi Martyn

I know what you mean! Maybe they all went to Worship the Rock? Or the "other site" :-)

Or maybe we just ran out of stuff to talk about?

"other site"?

Worship Central!

Thanks Daniel - never really heard of it, unless they're the people that organise and promote big worship shows.

There's a website (www.worshipcentral.org) which has some similar discussion forums to here, notably a "songwriting clinic" forum which is generally a fair bit busier than anything on here (I think there's another fairly active songwriting clinic/group on Worship the Rock, too). They also have some good video tutorials and other similar stuff.

I have to say, I've got a lot more out of HMI than I have out of worshipcentral, so far. I think it's partly because I don't feel quite cool enough to be on worshipcentral!

I like your video, by the way.

I'm not sure what's happening.
I have lost a great deal of my former interest for some reason, although it's not helped by the sound system in the laptop packing up. The Desk top isn't well either and I have to get my other half off that before I can use it.
However most of the old regular contributers seem to have cut back if not left altogether. I don't know what to do about it.

It is the busy season of Christmas, so that might be part of it.

It would be interesting to see what the stats say about membership though. I think successful sites tend to have a constant flow of new members who ARE asking the the same old questions but can also enjoy helping each other out, as well as a good pool of old-timers who give a sense of community by knowing a bit more about each other.

I remember last Christmas we were discussing "creation versus evolution", so the forum was quite busy then :-)

We have had a busy year with building work and a breakdown of computer (new one for Christmas ...hurray)
Also picking up on Wulf's point, with a constant stream of new people (which is great by the way) the same questions / points do come up and I don't always feel like replying.
One other point is that I also feel that sometimes the replys are a bit harsh...e.g. last year I posted a question relating to grace and got a reply (ungraciously in my opinion :-) stating that I needed to 'get some teaching on grace' !!??
We all have opinions and stating them are fine and can be really useful in our walk with God as long as they are edifying and as long as we don't tell each other that we are wrong...it a BIG kingdom after all!

Blessings

Some people have, I think, left completely and deleted their profiles. One annoying thing about this is, when their profiles go, so do all their contributions to discussions! It makes for slightly odd reading when you go back over previous discussions - it looks as though people are having a conversation with themselves.

Yes, I noticed that when reading past threads - it was wierd. You had to 'guess' what the replies had been!

I think people have just been really busy (me too). Maybe we should all keep a close eye on the 'burn-out' discussion ...

Or we could pick up where we left off with the creation/evolution debate (just kidding!)
