Every one seems sold on the G7th. Could I get one for:-
a) my 12 string (Which has a very wide neck (2 1/4") and
b) my Guitar Banjo (Which has a fairly narrow neck)

Another G7th user too. It's a great design, works well and actually doesn't look ugly and bulky like many capos. Think the bloke who designed it is a Christian btw.

Yea Mark and Julie, the G7th capo is a masterpiece of design...I've used one for the last three years and it is by far the best i've ever had for retaining good tuning.

Just seen your replies - well, I've been using my G7th capo for a couple of weeks now, and am really pleased with it. It's effortless, quiet to change, and very snug fitting - the tuning stays perfect. They should pay me to advertise!

I've just bought a G7th and it seems excellent. My old capo (which it appears is a Kyser, I'd never looked at the make before) is based on a spring and when I was putting it on my guiar it seemed to be pulling some of the strings out of tune. The G7th is based on some kind of clutch set up and so you only have it as tight as you need which seems to be helping for me.

Hannah, Julie - I'd agree - Kyser are excellent. There were two things that always bugged me about my otherwise excellent shubbs...

- Where do you put it when it's not being used? Kysers just clip on your headstock. Job done.

- That annoying clunk of a shubb locking into place. A few times it's been audible over the PA if I've changed at a quiet moment. No more clunking with Kyser :)

Not sure what G7th ones are like, but I've not looked back since going for a Kyser.

I was thinking of buying that capo but I went for the cheaper Kyser KG6B Quick Change Capo which hasn't let me down so far!

Hi, good to join you. Am thinking of buying a G7th performance capo for my Yamaha APX 900. I already use a Shubb. Are they any better?
Peter Moore Comment by Peter Moore on 11 May 2008 at 5:33pm
Hi guys, I've been looking at the group for a while but as I don't get to play acoustic very often I've put off joining until now. I just thought that those of you who haven't looked at my page might be interested in the acoustic stage at Athelington Festival (see the blogs on my page for further details). There's still room if anyone would like to make the journey to Suffolk.
