He Must Increase

UK Worship Leaders & Musicians' Network | UK Worship Forum | Worship Events List

Has anyone ever thought about this? I feel very new to this worship leading thing. God has been calling me to do it for a while but I have managedd to pretend I could not hear. Following 4 sermons on Jonah in a week I decided to stop running, but it all feels rather strange territory.
It would be really great to spend some time with an experienced worship leader and pick up some hints and tips etc, maybe practice together or something, not quite sure.

Any thoughts anyone.

Ha I remember feeling this way when I started and it took a long time to feel "comfortable" in this skin! Best advice I can give you is to always be who God created you to be! That way you'll do the job only you can do and that will be just right! I spent ages trying to be someone else and it was only when I accepted that I couldn't fit anyone elses shoes that I came into my own and God really began to work through me!

The best place to practice is in the "secret place". What you do there overflows in a meeting. There isn't any right or wrong way to lead worship as God is a God who is moving constantly and definitely doesn't like being in a box! However there are right and wrong attitudes that can inhibit Him. By seeking first His kingdom we find the place where we can allow Him to rub off our edges and make us into the whole person we were created to be.

Remain soft and tender to the Holy Spirit and you'll be fine!

With lots of encouragement to you my friend. Look forward to hearing some of your experiences as you grow in your calling!

I would suggest putting you concentration on being a lead worshiper rather than a worship leader. A subtle difference maybe but an important one, as it is all about the focus.
