Thanks for that, Kev.
I have just reached the panic point - Carol service tonight, loads to do, drama to fit in with music, computer stuff to organise for it ... The final practice was cancelled the other night because of snow and the drummer can't…
That could be as much fun as the creation/evolution discussion :)
I can see the controversial heading - The irresistible grace of God and the free will of man
I think I should keep out of that one!!
Yes, I noticed that when reading past threads - it was wierd. You had to 'guess' what the replies had been!
I think people have just been really busy (me too). Maybe we should all keep a close eye on the 'burn-out' discussion ...
Or we could pick…
I agree, too. It's great to have a place to be able to relate to other worship musicians and to know that we all have the same issues, questions and problems. It helps to put things in perspective. Thanks, Phil, and well done!
We are not having an evening service on 27th December or 3rd January, but we have a Carol service on Christmas Eve and a short Christmas Day service on Christmas morning.
(We normally have an evening service every Sunday except on holiday weekends a…
That reminds me of a preacher we had a while ago who based his sermon on Buzz Lightyear from Toy Story. He tried to get the congregation to chant '.. to eternity and beyond'!
God surely doesn't "get" anything, he simply "is".
.. and yet, the Bible talks about God being 'angry' , God being 'grieved' (1 Chronicles 21:15) and I'm sure there are other examples. But that doesn't mean God "is" 'Anger'. So doesn't God 'get' em…
I have been a Christian since I was 17 and been involved in worship ever since. I am part of a worship team in my own church and I work as a software developer. I am keen to use technology as a tool to enable all aspects of worship to be made easier, letting the team get on with the job of serving God with their talents.

Hi Brenda,
Sorry for the late reply - I haven'y been on HMI for a while.
Yes - I did play at the 428 club a few times with Outreach or was it 5+ 1 or was it In Transit.
I'm still playing - at preset keyboards with Simply Worship.
Check out the website - simplyworship.info.
Hope your still pressing on - Shalom - David

Hope so too Brenda. Thanks for introducing me to He Must Increase
I've been thinking a bit further about your theological argument against evolution, and have tried to come up with a different (perhaps less vague) counterargument. It's quite possible it might not work for you, but I would be honoured if you'd take a look. It is a long post, I am afraid.
A very warm welcome to He Must Increase
I hope you enjoy looking around the site and getting involved with the groups and discussions that happen here.
Hopefully everything will be plain sailing but if you get any difficulties please give one of the admin team a shout and we will do all we can to help you.
God Bless
Steve
Hi Brenda
Fair point all around. I completely agree with you about anything to remove distractions being good. I guess I'm being a bit selfish, cos as someone who knows IT and is pretty up on the PA side of things I always notice techie stuff and often end being involved when it doesn't do what it's supposed to even when I'm just at church as a worship leader or musician, hence these things tend to distract me!. To be fair I'm now recognising this and distancing myself from such things when appropriate. Actually, I think your software seems pretty interesting, especially fired off by foot pedals (I'm a guitarist).
At some point in the future I may investigate furthur as I have a second issue. I have very limited vision and therefore have to print / write my chord sheets pretty large (given the choice I'd probably use 28 point or bigger ) and so, as you can imagine my music often covers rather more pieces of paper than I would choose. If I mounted a decent size screen on a super strong music stand it may serve me well. Not for the moment though as I would need to resolve a few issues first, not least of which finding the finance for the new hardware that I'd need and finding the time to set it up! :-)
Glad you like the site. As you picked up I'm one of the adminsitrators. All congrats need to go to Phil Williams though as he's created it all and set it all up. I came on board earlier this year. But, yes, I too think it's a great way of meeting (at least virtually) folks who have a simllar heart to us and face similar issues.
Hi Brenda
Welcome to HeMustIncrease. Worshipper and IT person. I think that there are a few of us! It sounds like you're more optomistic about the combination that me :-) Perhaps I'm too old and cynical! Having said that I'm absolutely keen on removing distractions to allow the worship team to lead effectively.
Anyway I've rambled on far too much. Welcome to the site. Please do get involved in the groups and forums.
All the best.
Mark
