Nope - missing the point. Other discussion deleted as well.

I think the balance comes from affirming and celebrating each other's talents on the one hand, and treating them like something special on the other. OK - we're all special to God. We're all unique. We all need to enjoy doing the things we're good a…

When I first came into to worship, which wasn't so many years ago, I really felt a need for reassurance, I never felt I was a good enough musician etc. I prayed and prayed about this, and somewhere along the lines I came to a point when I didn't fee…

You seem to miss out one thing. Jesus. Our gifts and talents are to glorify him and produce fruit. So if this is the case and your heart is close to the Lord, as the scripture says, Worship with your all your mind, heart and strentgh you wont really…

To me it looks as if you keep yourself fairly near the point of balance and the awkward and uncomfortable bits are how God gives you the grace not to get big headed. But then how do you deal with not being very good at anything and having so little…

Don't get me wrong. I see nothing wrong with taking worship songs out of church and gigging with them. But the phrase 'world wide topping worship band' leaves a nasty taste. I may well be misreading Miss P's motives, but to me it smacks of fame and…

I think I'll settle for just one anyway. But if it happens it happens - I just don't think we should really be going into being worship musicians with the priority of becoming world famous... otherwise it's like that video that was doing the rounds…

Home Town:
Leeds
Home Church:
St. John's, Yeadon
Musical Gift(s):
Folk flute, sing a bit, theory
About Me:
What can I say? I'm a computer technician / graphic artist; I'm also the mother of three boys [two of them twins]; I administrate my husband's business, and fill in the gaps as a Lay Reader, Youth leader, Sound Engineer, Music group member, and Publicity / IT co-ordinator at church. In my spare time... I sleep.
Favourite Music
Oof - where does one start?
Michael Card [sorry, Daniel], Eoghan Heaslip, Neil Bennets, Sammy Horner - but I also like some of the creations of the main streams peeps such as Graham Kendrick, Matt Redman, Tim Hughes et al.
Afraid my favourite still remains Handel's Messiah, tho...
Favourite Bible Verses / Passages
Matt 6:33 - ...seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
Not sure favourite is the right word - more that it's been following me around [or maybe leading me would be more accurate] for so many years that it's become embedded.

Royal Free Music Society midi files for rehearsals

As usual, forgot all about this when I was looking for midi files to the carols we're planning on...

100 Carols for Choirs

Click on the song and you have the separate and full score midi for people to practice to. Not so keen on the 'choral aahs' patch they use, but any midi editor can import the file and then you can take you pick [I tend to use Acoustic Grand piano but that's just my personal preference]

Also worth looking in their… Continue

Christmas Songs Sacred and Secular

Well, I've done it - now to see if I can upload it...

Christmas Songs.pdf

As Daniel said in the discussion, some of the chords may need tweaking. Also, there are probably others out there which could be added - so please let me know of any additions and modifications and I'll edit the file accordingly.
I have the sheet music for a lot of th… Continue

Well as long as your all right.

I do know the feeling I have managed to end up leading one of out small/house groups and I'm finding it a bit heard going at the moment. It eats time.

Hi Julia,

It's good to see you back on line, it had been so long I though something terrible might have happened to you.

While I understand, being busy never stopped you before.

Mind you I mustn't be too flippant I think someone is trying to set me up to become a house group leader.

Hi Julia,

I see you are not contributing to HMI with the enthusiasm you used to either.
Do you think it is a fad we have got over or will we be back.

Hi Julia,

Welcome to the "Training" Group. We are still trying to get things going at the moment, so can I invite you to contribute. I look forward to reading some of your words of wisdom.
