Well, to stick my oar in - we have a congregation of 2000+, and an 1800 seater auditorium and 2 services on a Sunday. Sometimes it's too loud and for me it detracts, and I really don't get why we need smoke, - but apparently we do, but most of the t…
We're going through exactly this at the moment. Fun, isn't it? We moved from South London to Peterborough in 1990 when we got married and were clear that God called us here. 19 years and 3 kids on and that's definitely been the case. But now the sen…
Ahhh - a blast from the past! Yeah - I remember them. Saw them at Greenbelt too, I was there the same years as CS below - Knebworth then Castle Ashby. I still have the 10-year special program at home.
(Strangely - my now wife was camped about 20 ya…

Divisional IT Manager, married to Carol for 18 years with 3 great kids, brought up in the church, been in Peterborough 18 years and with current church for 18 months. Been playing bass for 26 years but not seriously for ages - couple of bands years ago but started taking lessons again about 4 months ago and has made a huge improvement. Drum machine also helps loads. Want to get a good Christian blues / R'n'B band together and play the pub circuit - long-stanging dream, great for outreach. I also love just jamming with other people. Striving to improve all the time, pushing my playing and learning as much as I am able, learning new stuff all the time..
Favourite Music
Blues - My all time favorite. Mansfield, Glen Kaiser - the usual suspects and loads of others.
Rock - used to love Stryper in my teens, mellowed now though. 80) Still love Petra, Rez, Jerusalem etc.
Like a lot of the new worship stuff coming through, have Robert Chritchley in the car (full volume) at present. Some of the newer Hillsongs stuff is different and great.
Favourite Bible Verses / Passages
Ephesians 3:20 (Amplified) Because all too often we limit God.

My daughters hate the sidecar but my wife loves it. So did my Dad, we lost him earlier this year and we are still getting over it. Two years ago when he was a mere 88 and registered blind I took him accompanied by two of my mates on solos all the way to the far north of Scotland in it. He loved it although the trip was a bit much for him.
Actually the best advice I can give to anyone contemplating a sidecar is don't, they are not easy to drive until you get used to them. I have further advice for anyone who must drive one but I'll leave that there for the moment.
I used to be in a thing called R+O+L+L (Riders of the Living Lord) over a period of about four years we annoyed most of the Bike clubs in the Fleet, Aldershot, Guildford area. Jesus also used us to touched a lot of peoples lives through us and two guys got saved.
I'd love to do it again but nothing I see seem quite right at the moment.
I have only just seen your picture on the Bike. What is it?
Have you ever been involved in any of the Christian Biking things?
If you look at the Photo on my page you see me on my Motto Guzzi California stone fitted with Watsonian GP Sidecar.

yeah - I know about the I wants! Perhaps we could run a competition on HMI to see who's got either the most expensive or the longest list of thinks we'd quite like but haven't got onto yet:) Perhaps the "I want" list is just one of those things we need to keep submitting to the Lord!

HI Matt
Thanks for that. Yeah I realised that the bass pack was for the ordinary XT Live but that's why I'm interested. I have the XTL for use with my Variax. For bass I currently use a little Galleon Krueger and I thought for the sake of not too many pounds I could add a load of sounds to my armoury. Do you know of any bassists using the bass pack on the ordinary XTL? and if so what do they reckon?
As for the Variax bass - I know what you mean, I did try it and it didn't really excite. To be fair the variax guiars don't either it's just that flexibilty of, at the very least, being able to switch from acoustic guitar sounds to electric that makes it so useful.

HI Matt
I saw your comment on the Variax group but for some reason a reply button didn't appear! So what's happening bass wise. I see they still do a Bass tone pack for the XT Live which I've been half thinking of getting for a while. Are they stopping all their bass stuff or just hte amps or the variax basses?

Hi Matt, welcome to HMI, pleased to see that you've started listening to jazz. How about taking a look at the festival blogs on my page, I guess it's about an hour from Peterborough, would love to see you there.
