If it's a reasonably large congregation I'd recognise that the function of the church requires a range of facilities and these don't necessarily have to be at the same location.
For an auditorium "worship centre" I'd look for opportunities to have…
Hi Dee
Male friendly songs - In many cases songs in which the emphasis is on God, His nature, his power, etc, rather than on one's own reaction to it. Preferably with a rousing tune. Old hymns were often strong on this (but weak sometimes in other…
I've not read the book but I think it's a very serious concern. Yes, I would say that much of the way we "do church" is not very male-friendly and it may not be coincidence that there are so few men in church. Some interesting stats are available at…
I think 1-2-3 works if you are rigorously self-critical or (better in many ways) get a friend with solid biblical knowledge and judgement to shake your song to see if any theological cracks appear. Tempting to skip this stage as it could be painful,…
Cheers - yeah I go to a spin off of the main church that meets in a school. Which church do you go to in Woking?

Yes you're probably right. It's not an area I've looked at. Not something I've grown up with, or become familiar with, but it will be a very real and much safer world for some. Virtual mission! Interesting!

Sounds more like your area of expertise.Totally over my head!
We were really a 'virtual' church for the 5 months before we moved from Scotland to Warrington. My husband Mike designed a web site while in hospital and launched Oasis-warrington.org. We used search engines, searches including anything to do with Warrington, churches, Jesus and tried to make sure we were pretty much at the top of the list of searches. In August when we moved to Warrington we got out as much printed advertising as possible. God really blessed us as one of the first people who contacted us through the web site was a printer. We advertised the web address widely on any material we put out. We picked up the rest of the people through either them seeing the web site having done a search, and others through personal relationships. We have about a 50/50 split on that. We send out an e-newsletter to anyone who signs up through the web-site and have a list of about 240 contacts who have done that. Mike built an adertising trailer which we tow through the town which includes the web address. After our first meeting we wer interviewed by the local Guardian, that article also included the web address and as a result of that article we had over 2500 hits in one day. Some other churches in the area are now piggy backing on searches for oasis warrington, which is great. Anything to get the gospel out there. Hope that helps? Jane
