Hi everyone! I'm 68 and have been playing drums and guitar and bass since 1958, but only played in worship bands from 1975. I still play drums and guitar in the worship band on a regular basis, but I believe that encouraging younger musicians is an…

When all was going sooooo well (1st December)

I arranged with one of our church music group (a lady younger than I) to cover me as the worship leader at our church last Sunday. She agreed on the understanding that I would come and support her yesterday at a small worship gathering at a Christian Resource Centre, where she and her husband are on the leadership team.

Having a Sunday off was great and it

Ohh dear, typing is not one of my skills, unfortunately...

Good to hear it all sounds like good news your end apart from the "coming down with something" bit. At least if you are it'll be the right side of Christmas. We were both ill over Christmas last year which was really duff. Karen's started with a sore throat and ear ache thing just yesterday...trying to avoid picking it up off her could be difficult.
Anyway, as I said, all the rest of your news sounds positive. Very good.
Just done my free upgrade to V8 of PTs today and it comes with some more freebie plugins which is nice. Found my way round most of the audio side of things now so MIDI and sequencing next....all greek to me at the mo so, lets see how I go from here!
Hope you avoid the dreaded lurgy mate, and if not you get better quickly!
Cheers for now

Happy New Year Paul!
Yes I've finally got my act together and got an iMac, Mbox2, ProTools set up. Actually got it early in Dec hence me not being on here much in the last few weeks. All my free time being spent trying to get my head round the technology...and finding it pleasantly straight forward so far.
Just been recording and working on some bits and pieces to try and learn how it all works so no seriously creative stuff just at the mo.
Yet to venture in to the world of sequencing properly, working on getting the audio side sorted first but I bought a package which includes Reason and Ableton (amongst other things) so I've got a few options (not to mention Garageband which came with the Mac) to look at with the sequencing side of things.
Hope all's well with you and the family. When are you back at work? My work has picked up again so I'm straight back into it all again on Monday after several very quiet months. Got work in the diary through to end of March now so things are looking up nicely....at last!
Anyway, as soon as I've got something proper recorded I'll let you hear it.
Cheers for now and have a nice remainder of your holiday.

Hello Paul!

Happy new year to you and yours too :)
Haven't sung for ages, actually at church, you see the thing is, it's a lose lose situation, you start saying 'yes' to everyone who asks you to sing for them, then you get tired of it (my voice isn't that strong, so can't really hold it-need lessons!) then you say 'no' once in a while, then no one asks you...

Sorry, that was a mini tirade there, wasn't it?
