The thought of 'ministry' can be very scary. If you spend too long thinking about it; the responsiblity, the committment, the realisation that 'this is beyond my human power', all the emotions that come with it can be overwhelming.
The idea that God would choose you, alone can be difficult to digest.
But you pull yourself together enough to acknowleged that 'it is…

"I will extol You, my God, O King, and I will bless Your name forever and ever. Every day I will bless You, and I will praise Your name forever and ever."Great is the LORD, and highly to be praised, and His greatness is unsearchable. How small had I made God?
I don't know how it happened. I can't explain why I ended up believing this, I don't think it was explicitly taught to me, I just observed it. "God sets us free from sin" (but only sometimes).
There's this unspoken feeling in many christians: we're fine with the idea of Forgiveness, we can sort of grasp a Grace that sets us free from the spiritual debt of Sin, but we don't experience a real releasing from habitual

The first review of my CD has been published in the UK e-magazine “Never For Nothing” (NFN). The full review goes like this:
“ Young children are very lucky to have such artists as Duggie Dug Dug, Dave Godfrey, and Ishmael to point them in the right direction where Jesus is concerned. Well, now, there’s a new kid on the block. Say “Hello” to Devon’s Chris Medway. This is his debut release and it’s quite a corker too! Using the theme of a train journey, Chris uses train announcements, sound effe…

It looks like the Bible gets into some pretty surprising places. It also seems that some of these places can sit quite nicely until a f…

"the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!" Galatians 5:22
Its the old Bible story of apples and pears, fruit and fibre, the tasty and less so but its still in the text so its still got something to say. Paul the Apostle talks about the Holy Spirit, in particular the fruit of the spirit and by fruit, we're talking the results or the end product God…

Yesterday I was in Paris walking down the street, had just received my keys from a friend whom I had let my London appartment to for the week end - and 2 minutes later I pass in front of a Christian shop.
I ask them if they have worship music in English, and as I ask, see the Hillsong posters... I go there, in the back of the shop, and see there's a DVD playing and it's Hillsong as well - I turn around and say to whoever is here "It's my church!"! A guy says "me too".
He's actually from Hillsong…

The first three songs this morning were "Your voice", "Praise is Rising" and "Faithful One".
I like to play "Your voice" (which is in Em) using a Shubb capo across the top 5 strings on the 5th fret, leaving the bottom E open as a drone. Try it - it really works nicely... the Em becomes a Bm shape, the C becomes a G shape, and so on.
On to the next song, "Praise is Rising", in key of G. By placing a second capo on the 3rd fret (leaving the first one where it was), the bottom string drone become…

I have been a practising Christian now for nearly 20 years and most of my formative years was in spent in a Pentecostal church trying to find my feet, both in Christ and in church. It appeared to be a general
rule of thumb that anyone could join the choir and there was always a klaxon of demands for extra voices especially when a convention or other special church event was coming up. And mostly if you could hum a note back you could join the choir. The natural progression from the choir…

Just thinking about Christmas time and how I love it when this time of year comes around. Not just because its a great chance to talk about Jesus, but because as a worship leader, its a time when I get to relax a bit. Our church only does one carol service which I am not really involved with to any extent...the Sunday evening meetings come to an end for the season so there is pressure off organising / leading them...and although I will be leading probably three out of the weeks leading up to Chr…

I don't know about you but there are times when I just can't get God out of my head. I am in one of those times right now, constantly thinking about Him, His greatness, His grace mercy etc His faithfulness. He takes over my thoughts while I am in work, at home, when I wake up before I go to sleep...an I don't really know what it is I am thinking about Him, I am not studying for any great revelation, not 'pushing in' for any answers to life's questions, not striving for a piece of wisdom, I am ju…

I decided this week to put a shortish testimony on my facebook page, under "notes". I thought that since I share all sorts of other stuff on there, why not this? So, here's what I wrote, maybe you could consider doing the same!
*****************************************
Usually, when people write a testimony, it is the story of how they became a Christian. I became a Christian at the age of 11. You could say I had it coming: my family went to church regularly, and I was a good boy who listened…

After today I'll get me out of this place
Into the world so I can set a new pace
Seems I'm on my own from here
Gotta face so many fears
Won't You lay me in Your hands of grace
I've got a funny feeling that I'm gonna go away
Gonna face my future, gonna try to make the grade
I've got a ways to go from here and
Vision doesn't seem so clear but
Praise God He's got a plan and
Understanding isn't my place
After today I'm gonna come face to face
With a new world who knows I'm feeling this way
I've go…

Thought I was going to a church meeting last night that a friend had asked me to sing at but but it turned out to be a community centre instead that a sister in the Lord had hired out to do outreach. She was worried incase no one turned up but the Lord sent 30 souls along and instead of the usual 2 or 3 songs at a church meeting I got the chance to sing 6 songs and souls were encourged with the word and testimony of 2 other brothers also.
Love doing meetings like that were people just step out in…
