Does anyone please have a copy of The Little Drummer Boy for our keyboard player? Our children have decided they want to do their piece in the Christmas Eve service accompanied by this carol and we don't have a copy. We do have a CCL. If someone would be kind enough to lend us their copy that would be absolutely fantastic, or if they can recommend which one to get from the internet as there are so many versions (the least expensive if possible). Thanks in advance,
Suz x

I went to a Prayer Training Day two weeks ago and I learnt a lot about the context of prayer in Churches (Church History & Biblical). It was obvious that the older couple leading the session are really active in intercession. The guideline they gave us are very well considered for the context praying for individuals in a service context. I know everyone there gained from the training. It would have been good if we had prayed for each other for a filling of the Holy Spirit. Most of the prayer…

With my wife and daughters, I have been worshiping at the new church for a couple of months now.
My daughters are fitting in well and really being challenged and discipled in their youth group. At age sixteen it can be difficult being a Christian. I’m being surprised by them all the time. One of them was telling me that at a party they went some of their friends were drinking. Having been served in a Pub at age 12 I just said well did you have any! She said no I’ve promised Jesus that I will not…

A Christmas poem: some thoughts Mary might have had.
Whose child is this ?
Whose child is this,
a cuckoo all warm and suckling ?
If I say you are mine
Your eyes tell me that you make me a mother
giving me no right to call you mine.
If I claim to have given you life
you disarm me with a smile that says
you will give me mine.
Your father has only spoken to me through messengers,
I cannot picture his face
although I know his love.
You were not conceived in passion
nor touched int…

At a recent worship leaders gathering I was at a number of people mentioned wanting to grow in their bands ability to 'self-arrange'. Bob Kauflin from
Sovereign Grace has done some of the best teaching I've heard on this subject. Why not get break out the chips & dips and get your team together to watch this?
If you prefer you can download the
audio mp3 along with every other seminar from the WorshipG…

Advent candle #1
In grey and rainy preparation
clouded days preoccupy.
Trees are mourning their lost finery,
birds flee or prepare for hard times.
Day follows day, treading weary paths,
a joyless melancholic procession,
boughs drip metronomic tears
muddy blankets hide spring’s birthright.
Bones chilled, cheeks besieged by gust and gale,
eyes become refugees daring only to peer
from squinting grimaces.
Beauty hides, bereaved, crest-fallen.
From such dismal obsession the season
promises L…

The Chorus goes 'We must go, Live to feed the hungry, stand beside the broken, we must go, steppin forward, keep us from just singing, move us into a…

Hi all, we've just put two new songs on www.RESOUNDworship.org, both of which have a Christmas theme and are available for free download with mp3s and chords. You can listen to mine (On Christmas Day) on my page as well. Here's the lyrics, hope it may be of use to someone.
God bless

1. On Christmas day, a humble girl
gives birth to hope for all the world,
this is Immanuel.
How awesome and mysterious,
the Lord of heaven draws near to us,
this is Immanuel.
2. The hands that once split nig…

Hebrews 13 vs 2 says "Don't forget to show hospitality to strangers, for some who have done this have entertained angels without realizing it"
Have you met any angels lately? Was he or she in a white robe? Was there radiant light all around them? Did they have large wings made of feathers?
No okay well neither have I........................................but I met Daniel.................he is one of God's angels but has no wings and does not have a white robe...............let me share......…

Hey all!
Thanks so much for praying for us while we were away, we managed to go through africa with no illness or problems amongst our entire 27 strong team. That is a not so minor miracle!
We flew into Kampala via Amsterdam which took 13 hours and slept the first night in a Convent just outside Kampala. Almost had to sleep in a separate room to the wife, but the nuns were finally convinced we really were married.. (phew!) We all slept really well and were untroubled by mosquitos. We had a goo…

Well it's all been organised.....ish.
The camels are booked and the insurance (you would not believe the cost!) paid for by the council
The donkey is booked and I had the embarassment of having to ask the 16 year old girl playing Mary how much she weighed! (People under 8 stone get a donkey you can ride, over 8 stone they get a donkey you can lead)
Young farmers have confirmed they will provide a dozen sheep and a dozen pygmy goats
Herod sadly is not going to come on a horse and cart. But appara…

I am greatly comforted when I think about how big God is.
We recently had some visiting worship leaders over from Canada and as part of one of their talks they showed part of Louis Giglio' talk on the 'How Great is our God tour' in which he talks about the God that breaths out the stars, some of you will probably have seen it. It really brought home to me the greatness, vastness, awesomeness of God, the God that breaths out the stars, the God that holds us in His hand and cares so much about us…

"I've felt under really attack recently" is a phrase you're almost bound to hear if you've spent any time in Christian ministry. Generally it means loads of bad stuff has been happening, and often we like to look for reasons for things that happen to us. I find it difficult to judge between what might be considered a run of bad fortune - bad stuff does just happen sometimes - and what can really be called "under attack", by which (let's face it) we are talking about evil powers trying to make li…

I’ve been sharing about a forthcoming evening meeting that our church has been planning for a few weeks now. Over that time we’ve moved through the “what would an evening meeting for our church look like” onto the “God seems to be with us on this, let’s go for it” and finally last night we had our first meeting.
Having thought, prayed and discussed different options for a format we went for a meeting that in many ways looks like our Sunday morning one but with a few practical differences. I’d s…

Hey all.
My wife and I are off to Uganda for 12 days this Wednesday.
Primarily I'm there to film a documentary of the work Global Care do out there. My wife is administrating the whole thing, so she's pretty stressed! (First prayer point - the wife!)
I'm volunteering my time to film, lead 2 other guys in filming, and then to edit a piece that will hopefully provoke more people into giving some cashola to the good cause that is - third world poverty and the protection of children in Developing…
