Well it's all been organised.....ish.
The camels are booked and the insurance (you would not believe the cost!) paid for by the council
The donkey is booked and I had the embarassment of having to ask the 16 year old girl playing Mary how much she weighed! (People under 8 stone get a donkey you can ride, over 8 stone they get a donkey you can lead)
Young farmers have confirmed they will provide a dozen sheep and a dozen pygmy goats
Herod sadly is not going to come on a horse and cart. But apparantly he can come on a horse. (Logistics and insurance are the problems)
There will be fireworks but no belly dancers (the council were quite keen on that one!)
The baby is being born any day (in fact it should have been born today). We are hoping it is a boy but we have no idea.
The music has been arranged, photocopied and sent off to 10 first schools (60 hours work - every note entered manually on Sibelius (with much cutting and pasting!))
Choirs have been contacted and the music is now being rehearsed
The band will be given their music this week and band practices will commence.
Please pray - I am slightly stressed out and there is not long left before the first and only performance on December 12th.

Danny

I've been following this and it sounds absolutely fantastic. I organised a holiday club at St. John's this summer and that was bad enough! All the very best with this and keep us posted.

Your mad ! ! - Still sounds fantastic hope it goes well. You will be at a loose end when it is finished.

We once tied a lad to a cross and lifted him up - the insurance for that was not too bad but we had an underwriter in the church. But we did have to keep a record of how many times we lifted the cross with him on it (a big heavy cross) and we didn't have a spare lifts. The stage crew were the soldiers in case they had to stop it falling.

The event was a great success (I was priviledged to be playing bass for it) even though it was freezing cold and wet. Everyone I've spoken to said how wonderful the evening was.

It would be good if you could put some photos up. I'm sorry I missed it but it was just too far to come.

David Bull.

"An excellent resource for anyone involved in worship music. The video clips make for a more relevant and refined collection than you find on YouTube and there are plenty of diverse but interesting subjects being debated in the forum as well."
Marie Page, Director, Musicademy
