7a's, 5a's, hotrods, brushes etc?

Which do you mainly use in worship?

I have a pair of Vic Firth 7A's which are weight matched, and also some brushes. I once taped the brushes together to give more attack (I didn't have any hotrods!)

What I generally find with thicker sticks, you can play louder without hitting harder ( which isn't always a good thing), so if you are using 5a's and everyone is complaining that you are to loud, try a thiner stick (e.g. 7a's) as this will give you more control and you can hit slightly harder. I use 7a carbosticks for practicing on my electronic drum kit. But when it comes to a sunday morning using these would drown out the whole band and PA and congregation, so i use my very very thin jazz sticks that give me great response and I then don't have to tap the drums. Just a thought.

"An excellent resource for anyone involved in worship music. The video clips make for a more relevant and refined collection than you find on YouTube and there are plenty of diverse but interesting subjects being debated in the forum as well."
