Guitar effects chain
My son is interested in a possible guitar effects chain. He has at his disposal a drive/amp modelling unit, wah pedal, digital delay, phaser, acoustic modeller, and chorus pedal so what should be the signal chain?
(and this is all he has, so please don't suggest anything else!)
Is there a standard route and how much does it matter if you switch them around?

As a rule of thumb, gain, eq and dynamics go before time based effects. Modulation usually goes after delay. Some people prefer wah in front of gain and others the oher way around.

There is really no strict rule - just go with what you like. But as CS suggests, a good start to find a good chain is to use what he's suggested.
If they were mine, I'd go wah --> drive --> acoustic modeller --> phaser --> chorus --> delay.
