New song ideas!!!
hi all
I recently have just written a chorus for my new song. You know when you just get into those moments when it just comes to you? Thing is Im really struggling to write the lyrics for the verse, I have already written the chords for it, but i cant seem to find a connection between them.
The current chorus as follows:
What is love when you're not with us
What is strength when we are weak
Whats a house without foundations
It is needed just like you
or the other version i had been pondering for the chorus was:
what's a house without foundations
whats a door you cant walk through
what is love when your not with us
it is needed just like you
Any thoughts anyone on a possible theme for the verses to run with,
and also which chorus sounds better

hi rachel,
nice song start, for me i think one reason you might be struggling for lyrics is becuse you havent figured out what you want to say with your song. once you have a 'theme' or 'main topic' to work with everything else will become clear.
at the moment they seem like a great collection of ideas but have no main thing holding them together. why not look at the bible passage that mentions unless God builds a house the workers are working for nothing (psalm 127:1)?
the line, 'it is needed just like you' seems a bit weak also and doesnt really sell the song at the moment.
huge potential in this song tho, keep working at it,
