I can't believe you've missed out this one:

"You came from heaven to earth, to show the way, from the earth to the Cross, my dead toupe...."

(apologies to those of a follicularly-challenged nature)

It's to do with the present economic climate, every one reduced to living on beans and cauliflower!

Many years ago (late 70s??!!) ...standing with my family singing a chorus that went:

"I lean, I lean, I lean, I lean...I'm leaning on the Lord"

....my brother turned to me and in a stage whisper said....

"Who is Eileen?"

I cracked up completely.....:))

There is a Delirious? song called Inside Outside. Fro anyone whose ever listened to this song and has a dodgy mind, like me!, this song manages to set off some rather dodgy thoughts! LOL. I'm not sure Martin Smith was quite thinking about what he was writing when he wrote this song! I'll leave the rest to your imaginations!

Hmmmm. Very much enjoyed reading through some of these. Has anyone noticed the line in "Praise is Rising", the one which says "Hear the sound of hearts returning to you"? For ages, I just couldn't help trying to imagine just what sound that would actually make. Squelch, squelch, squelch ?

Sorry.

This is true - I accidentally sang (at a key point in the main service unfortunately) ' I'm dancing on the tabletop' instead of mountain top - which I'm told conjures up rather the wrong sort of image!

One suggested by our (slightly) wicked bass player that now sticks in my head is 'He's turned my mourning into lunchtime again'
