the Christian National Anthem
so.. I introduced a song yesterday at church. "who's the king of the jungle". I explained that it was the christian National Anthem.
It turns out nearly 20% of the congregation had never heard it before.. WHAT THE HEY!!!??!!
so.. what song do you think is really the christian National Anthem? I will, of course, allow you to specify denominational anthems if you so wish...

You mean 'In the year 2525' - an ancient pop song that Ishmail must have had in the back of his mind when he wrote it!
Have we had a thread on what secular songs some worship songs remind us of? If we haven't, I'll start one. It's a game we play in our band - the trouble is, I have to remind myself to start singing the right song! Anyway, I can start the ball rolling with:
The first two lines of 'You Are My Anchor' are almost exactly the first two lines of 'The Winner Takes It All' - the melody that is, obviously not the lyrics!

The end of the chorus of All I once held dear, :- You're my all. You're the best etc. is definately to the tune of There once was an ugly duckling! - With a waddle and a quack etc.
