Tour Blog 1

I'm now on tour and we have done our first few concerts and our first prison visit. We are due to do our second prison tomorrow morning. We have had fun so far with plugging the equipment in on the first prison because we plugged some american equipment in and when we turned in on even though there was the transformer we had a few sparks flying which the prison warders weren't to happy about. Apart from this the technical side of things has been going really well. I am loving using the LS9 on… Continue

How Do Peter/Jake

I know I am asking for it with an email with this title, but I need some advice.

We at cedars need a PA system in the near future.

Apart from digital (jake!) have you any sensible suggestions that obviously won’t break the bank?

Mixer Requirements
Main Stereo Output to front of house
Recording output in stereo ( “tape out” seams to have very little control but I am probably not using it correctly) runs into a laptop running audacity
Monitor output (2 if possible) although could get away with 1
Effects output
Ability to run active subs that are already in our possession (probably non powered mixer then)
At least 10 channels, just in case, better to have too many than not enough, although we could daisy chain another into it if needed.

System
2 front of house speakers capable of running well by themselves or with subs for larger events
Monitors already in hand, aswell as 18inch subs(it’s amazing what you collect!)

I have seen the following which will probably cause you to some kind of allergic reaction to it’s badness

Please bear in mind we have 1 hour from doors open to service starting and everything needs to fit into one car along with my bass rig!

A cased system would be nice to avoid / reduce damage during transit.

Please also bear in mind that the people operating are not sound engineers!

We have a multicore and cables and mikes/stands so no need for any of them.

Any ideas would be great.

Thanks

Steve

Hi

Sorry for long reply, I've been in Albania. Ok glad to hear that is possible, in which case I would like if possible for you to record my set and give me a raw copy for me to edit and make a CD of some kind. We will need to check with him, but if possible I would also like to get some of Tony Anthony's testimony, providing he is ok with that.

My drummer will be using three toms.

Tim.

Hi Jake!

Only me after a bit more information about Gospel On The Green later this month.

Just wondering, do you have the gear to record our performance at the show, and if so would that be possible? If you don't have it, would it be possible for you to do that if I hired in the correct equipment? Again, if so, what equipment would you need/want to do that?

Thanks for your help,
Tim

Looking forward to working with you again, if you'll have me!

Hi Jake

I'm playing at gospel on the green this year, and I was told you're running the sound for it?

Wicked! I was just wondering what equipment you use, as much detail as you can give me would be awesome.

Cheers buddy!
God bless, Tim.

Oh, by the way, I'll get that rider to you ASAP!

Hi Jake

How you doin? So another Jazz head? Thats great news I thought Iwas about the only Christian Jazz fan around.

So what Jazz do you listen to mostly? I am quite ecclectic and will listen to anything other than trad Jazz. I really like things like Dave Brubeck, Charles Mingus, Monk, Bird, Miles Davies and more recently Jamie Cullum, Diana Krall, Madeline Peyroux but also the weird and wonderful like Mahavishnu Orchestra, Weather report etc.

Anyway I can ramble on about Jazz for hours so Ill go now, cheers for getting in touch mate.

Hi Jake, thanks for the add :)

Noticed your interest in jazz, do you play upright bass at all? Was thinking of getting one to play at my church to diversify at the youth meeting sometimes lol

God Bless
