Who are we going to invite to church over Christmas?

For me it seems more acceptable to talk about church at christmas. we've done christmas services in workplaces and lots of people we wouldnt expect have come along. its challenged me to invite people to church more over christmas. whats the worst they can say? no thanks?!! let me know what happens!! God bless, gav.

i have a dream!!!!!!!!!

my dream is this....... we go to church, we worship God through music for a time. no one knows how long it is as no-one is clock watching. people are cheering God, they are dancing before him, people are being healed, marriages are being restored, no one cares who is leading worship or who is watching, people dont care if the songs are old or new or how they are led, people just want to meet with Jesus....... people are being saved, friendships built and rebuilt, some people are crying,… Continue

Hey, No probs, I know that it can be hard. My youngest Son is quite severely disabled and we live that day in day out. I used to think all the negative stuff, Why me / us, why would God allow ths ect. but came to the realisation that if I believe that God is God, then He is always good, regardless of the situation, and some situations are horrendous. The truth is probably somewhere inbetween the two. I love the Casting Crowns song 'Love them Like Jesus'
Stating that sometimes all that we can do is love...sometimes all we can do is love them like Jesus does, show Him to be who He really is, He really cares, about the small things and the big things, He is just so much bigger than we sometimes give Him credit for.

Cheers

Kev

Hi there

I must admit that I was a little disapointed with the tone of your reply to the discussion regarding lament. I don't take it personnally tho...I don't think like that. It is good to have passion about what you believe but others should be able to put their points forward without this type of accusation, that I don't know what is going on in the world etc. The trouble is words on the page always come across however we want to read them. Interesting that you quote from Romans 12, one of my fav chapters, there is some great stuff in that chapter that would transform the way we relate to each other if we really took it on board.

cheers, God bless

Hey Gav

If you feel like being opinionated on version 3 of "The Word", I've just loaded it up onto the song feedback group. Might put it on to other site too....

.... from a discussion on another site: opinionated is good, I reckon. Much more interesting.

So, good to see you over there. HMI is much better for chatting and leaving messages, though.

Hi Gav
I agree - much gnashing of teeth. It's a shame if you've never managed to get it to work properly. Despite my frustration with this failure I would say that it has been a very useful tool over the last year or so. I do agree about the stereo cable and power supply. A number of us get around this by running directly into a PodXT Live which both powers the Variax and remotely switches settings. Although to be fair, in this context you have to have yet another cable which costs even more (and I bought two so I had a spare). Anyway the cables seem fine the guitars failed so frustrationis the order of the day!

The annoying thing was that it went just when I was looking for a guitar sound that I haven't go anywhere else and that's given me the "I want's" for an arch top! Dangerous territory.

Thanks for replying.

All the best.

hmmmm. tech savvy i am not, so i have no idea! hows life treating the Ball clan? Went to the Worship Symposium with Rich and Frin the other day. Was really good. Might go to Worship Central when it goes to Oxford next month too. Loving going to these things, really inspires and encourages. Hoping to come your way in the new year sometime...trying to get ross to preach so we can take it as official time, but will have to see. Need to see the Balls in person as for some strange reason we actually miss you guys!!
